The Blessing of a Skinned Knee
by Dr. Wendy Mogul
A bestselling phenomenon among parents and educators, this book is an inspiring new roadmap for raising children. Wendy Mogul’s sage reflections on a world where entitlement and competition abound have struck a chord with thousands of readers. When the values of the culture are at odds with the ones parent’s wish to uphold and instill, The Blessing of a Skinned Knee offers a refreshing antidote. Instead of anxious overparenting, the book points the way to raising self-reliant, greatful, optimistic children.

Well-Rounded vs Super Star: Is one better?
Seemingly, gone are the days where we were told to encourage our children to be well-rounded. Instead, the trend seems to be to encourage our children to be stand-outs in one area such as in a particular sport, with a particular instrument or with an off-beat skill. What happened to the ideal of raising a well-rounded child? Jayne Gandy, M.Ed., is a college and university placement specialist for Bennett School Placement Worldwide and she will explore this hot topic.
