Tuition
Tuition covers a large portion of the costs associated with educating your child at Friends School, but it does not cover all of them. Annual giving, our Spring Auction and other fundraising efforts cover the rest. Tuition for the upcoming school year are set by the Board of Trustees at their January meeting. Few investments are as important as the one you choose to make in your child’s education.

PAYMENT PLANS
| SMART Plan 1: | 100% Early Full-Pay Plan – 3% discount if paid on or before July 1, 2012. |
| SMART Plan 2: | 65% of tuition due in July, the remaining 35% due in December; plan fee of $100. |
| SMART Plan 4 or 10: | Tuition payable in 4 or 10 monthly installments. The 10 installments are due July through April 2013. Service charges for this plan are as follows: 4 month plan $200; 10 month plan $300. |
Financial Aid
As a Quaker school, Friends School Mullica Hill is committed to maintaining a diverse student body, representing varied economic backgrounds. Consequently, since the beginning of the school in 1969, significant funds have been devoted to tuition assistance. For the 2012-2013 school year approximately 35% of the student body at Friends School received need-based financial aid.
As a school community, we expect parents to pay for the educational expenses of their children to the extent that they are able. The purpose of the financial aid program is to fill the gap between the actual cost of a year’s tuition and what a family can realistically be expected to pay toward this cost. We understand and appreciate the financial commitment families undertake in deciding to send their children to Friends School Mullica Hill.
In order for us to allocate our resources wisely and fairly, we have enlisted the help of Independent School Management’s FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) program. ISM’s FAST does not decide whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give; rather FAST provides the school with a report, which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information from FAST is kept confidential and applications are only reviewed by the confidential Financial Aid Committee.
Procedures for Parents:
1. Access the FAST program Website for FSMH. All your financial information should be entered directly through the secure server. Space is provided to fill out additional information that may be pertinent to your application. In addition, a copy of your tax return should be mailed directly to FAST. Please contact the FSMH Business Office at 856-478-2908 ext. 106 to request a FAST tax return mailing envelope if needed.
2. There will be a fee of $38 required to process the FAST application. Once completed, the application will be available immediately for the Financial Aid Committee’s review. You may be contacted if additional information is needed.
3. Please note, for returning families, re-enrollment contracts and deposits must be received by March 1st to be considered for financial aid.
The deadlines for applying for financial aid for the 2012-2013 school year are as follows:
March 1st – Online application must be completed
March 15th – Tax return and W2 must be sent into FAST
April 15th – Notification of financial aid awards begin
